The DRC Country Office has won the SCI Warehouse of the Year award for the second year in a row. The medical warehouse in Mbuji-Mayi, in Kasaï-Oriental succeeds that of Goma, North-Kivu, awarded in 2021. The Mbuji-Mayi Medical Warehouse was selected from a field of 14 nominations for 24 warehouses from all regions highlighting the breadth of quality of SCI Warehouses. For the DRC CO, this award is a huge accomplishment that could not have been achieved without the hard work and dedication of its amazing team which work every day in our warehouses.

To achieve success, the manager of the Mbuji-Mayi warehouse maintained optimal conditions for storing products to create good working conditions for staff and maintain product quality. Staff feedback has also helped to improve distribution and storage best practices.

Our Warehouses are critical to our operations – we hold over $30m worth of stock in over 200 locations around the world – the staff that keep these warehouses running efficiently and effectively do valuable work which is critical to ensuring we have the right products available for our communities and that they are handled and distributed in line with quality standards and good distribution practice.

Despite all the challenges inherent in working in the DRC, this award illustrates how passion, self-sacrifice and a constant search for excellence are key to achieving success.
